The STU BA WIN event

The project acknowledges that gender stereotypes also exist in the business sector and that more women in STEM are needed. Each GEP implementing partner had to organise its WIN event. In particular, the WIN event had a double fold aim: on one side it highlighted and valued women’s led innovations presenting startups and spin offs and examples of gender sensitive product development/design; on the other hand, it raised awareness to attract more girls to STEM research.

The WIN event of STU BA was held online on the 17th of May 2022. The main aim was to raise awareness and promote women working in the STEM field. The target audience was people from academia, business and the government. The presenters stressed the issue of low representation of women in the STEM field, inspiring discussions and promoting networking among the participants. During the Win event, they presented successful stories and experiences of female entrepreneurs and startuppers, including university students.

A total of 97 participants attended the WIN event. The majority were from academia and higher education, while policymakers, civil society representatives, and industry/private sector representatives also attended the event.

The WIN event is part of the GEP actions of STU BA.
