New article from our colleague Prof. Mangala Srinivas from YAE

“Academic success is still defined mainly by publishing lots of articles in high-impact journals and landing prestigious grants. These measures privilege one type of academic profile and skill set. They fetishize the ‘lone scholar’ and obscure the crucial contributions of teamwork and good leadership.”

Our colleague Prof. Mangala Srinivas from the Young Academy of Europe published an article with Dr Sylvia Brugman, Dr Meghann Ormond & Dr Janneke Pieters from Wageningen University.

The title is “Eight ways universities can make career assessment more equitable” and it provides recommendations on how to achieve diversity and inclusion in the new R&R policies.

R&R policies (Recognition & Rewards) support diverse skill- and competency-based career paths, recognise both individual and team performance, and value quality over quantity in academic outputs.
