National Training in Gender Equality Challenges at MTF STU BA

As part of the implementation of the CALIPER project activities, a national training in Slovakia was held during three online sessions held on 27th,29th of May, and on 3rd of June 2020 at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava (MTF), Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

The training was attended by members of the internal project team, as well as external collaborators and members of the Working Group of STU BA. Colleagues from various levels of the faculty management were represented at the training in the positions of researchers, lecturers, assistant professors, associate professors, and full professors.

The training took place under the supervision of the project partner Smart Venice, with the participation of a Slovak trainer, Mariana Szapuová PhD, Associate Professor of Comenius University, Bratislava.

The goal of the training was to deepen knowledge of these main topics: Gender equality in Scientific Research Key definitions and issues at stake at EU and National levels, EU Policies on Gender in Research and Innovation, Analysing challenges at MTF STU BA, Gender in Teaching and Curricula, Institutional Change, Gender Equality Plans, Resistances to change.

The training was very beneficial for the members of STU BA team, as well as for everyone involved. It provided the participants with an expansion of their knowledge and presented new perspectives on the addressed topics above.
