ECE NTUA’s event “Integration of the gender dimension into the research of the Electrical and Computer Engineer”

The Decision Support Systems Laboratory – School of Electrical and Computer Engineering NTUA in cooperation with the IEEE Women in Engineering Greece Section Affinity Group implemented on Thursday the 3rd of November 2022, 17.30 – 19.30, the online event “Integration of the gender dimension into the research of the Electrical and Computer Engineer”.

The aim of the event was to present the importance of gender mainstreaming in research of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

The central topics of discussion were the following:

• The Gender Dimension in EU research & innovation (The EU Strategy, the European Space Research, adoption of Gender Equality Plans)

• Challenges and opportunities in academia & research for gender equality.

• Search for tools for researchers to understand the benefits of mainstreaming equality of gender in their current and future research.

The guest speakers were inspiring women from the STEM field, working towards a more gender equal research and academic community.
