CALIPER webinar: Inclusive Research and Innovation ecosystems in Europe: what works, and how do we convince our stakeholders?

CALIPER project organises the webinar Inclusive Research and Innovation ecosystems in Europe: what works, and how do we convince our stakeholders?, hosted by our colleagues from Cardiff University. The webinar will take place on December 7th, 2022, 12:00-13:00 CET.

Gender Equality is a necessary quality for the sector of Research and Innovation (R&I) in Europe. Inclusiveness, intersectionality, and intersectoriality are core characteristics of a genuinely equal R&I community.

CALIPER’s unique approach foresees the creation of a Research& Innovation Hub for each one of the nine RPOs/RFOs to engage with stakeholders involved across the whole research and innovation value chain. Each RPO/RFO has identified external key players of the regional and national innovation ecosystem, including academia and universities, industry players, ministries/government bodies and public sector and civil society organisations to engage them in the GEP process.

Engaging interested and key external stakeholders in the GEP processes can bring gender balance and gender sensitiveness in transfer to market of scientific research results, motivates young girls to embrace STEM studies, and it promotes gender sensitive co-design of research and tech products. The RPOs/RFOs work with the external players of the Hub, to implement various GEP actions.  These actions facilitate institutional change internally, but also initiate a conversation among the regional and national stakeholders, to adopt and implement gender policies in their organisations.

What works in achieving an inclusive and interconnected R&I ecosystem? What are the barriers and how do we overcome them? Such questions will be answered by our panel of experts, representing different sectors and stakeholders.
